2.6 Challenge

WHAT IS THE 2.6 CHALLENGE?

Charities were set to miss out on millions of pounds after the London Marathon was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Instead, so many people have taken part in the 2.6 challenge, any challenge relating to the number 2.6 or 26 from their homes.

From my driveway, and the safety of my Wattbike, I will attempt to cycle 2.6 x The M25. A total of 488.8km on Sunday the 3rd May.

In the process I will be raising awareness and funds for Action For AT.

Who are ActionforAT?

Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T) is a very complex condition that affects a variety of different systems in the body. Research into A-T can also give insights into common conditions like cancer, compromised immune system, lung conditions and health generally.

For many people living with a rare condition such as A-T, sustainable, high quality medical research offers hope for the future. Hope that there will be something that will change the difficulties they face in every day life. Hope that the prognosis may be improved, and hope that increased interest in A-T will lead to greater understanding of not only this disease but others too.

By joining the Million Mile challenge you will help create awareness of this rare disease but also have the opportunity to fund medical research to speed up the process of identifying a cure for Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T) or treatments that delay or prevent the disabling effects of this devastating childhood condition.
